*The Black Berkey® water filtration elements are made and assembled in the USA.
Black Berkey® water filtration elements are more powerful than any other gravity filter element currently available.
- Removes chlorine, monochloramines, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, microplastics, + most common contaminants found in tap water. Examples of heavy metals include mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), thallium (Tl), and lead (Pb). Additionally, third Party testing by Mike Adams (the Health Ranger) showed that the Black Berkey Element was the most effective filter on the market today at removing cesium 137 (nuclear radiation).
- Includes: Two 9" Black Berkey® Elements with 2 washers, 2 wing nuts, and 1 priming button, 1 priming squeeze bottle, (1 per order)
- Installs in the upper chamber of all Berkey and British Berkefeld systems. Elements can also be used to upgrade most other gravity-fed water filter systems
- Sold as a SINGLE or as a PAIR

- Durability; Depending on water quality, This website recommends replacing Black Berkey Elements at 2 years or after 3,000 gallons (12,000 Litres) after use - through a pair of elements.
- The Black Berkey elements are interchangeable with the British Berkefeld systems and other other brand name gravity systems. (the PF-2 filters can be used as well.)
Performance of Berkey water filtration elements decrease with age. Replace every 2 years.
Note: TDS level water tests on our elements do not indicate a negative performance. Beneficial minerals are bypassed through the elements which will register a TDS reading. Only reverse osmosis will give you low TDS readings.
